A slight change of direction...

BONJOUR.

I was so hideously hungover on Sunday that I couldn’t bring my self to think of any fancy film terminology to write a review of La La Land, it was a struggle just to get off the sofa to be honest. Therefore I won’t be writing a review this week, I’m planning to do an Oscars post though so I will smush the two together, somehow.

A saw quite a few friends on Saturday night that I haven’t seen since before I started this blog. A reoccurring comment throughout the night from most of them was they thought my blog would be fashion, makeup and style focused. Although this blog was primarily made to document the completion of my Bucket List, it is extremely difficult to do the majority of items on my list every week. For example: No.24 go to Harry Potter World in Disney and No.14 visit Vegas and do the ‘Hangover’ these would both be near impossible when I have a job to hold down and a serve lack of funds, plus some are seasonal activities. So with that in mind I am going to slightly change the direction of my blog and focus on said things above, whilst continuing with my Bucket List as and when I can afford the time and money to do so.

OUTFIT DETAILS
·      Dress- Misguided Find the dress here
·      Necklace & Choker- Amazon, Forever 21
·      Tights- Boots (they honestly do the best tights ever 10/10 highly recommend)
·      Shoes- New Look

My dress was from the plus size range that Misguided do and while I love that they feature similar items to the normal range this dress was way too long! I don’t understand why all plus size brands think plus size women want to cover everything up, that may be the case for some people but not for me and my slightly chubby limbs! I think t-shirt dresses should be worn shorter as they aren’t the most flattering item to begin with so I got my mum to take the hem up by a good few inches, around about 15 minutes before I was due to leave the house. My timing is impeccable. I wanted to wear this dress as it is loose fitting and I knew there would be food at the party and I can never resist a sausage roll…or three. I went with dark tights and my trusty old faithful heeled boots but this would look great with bare legs and a pair of over the knee boots or strappy heels. The detailing on the front of the dress inspired the red theme for my makeup.

MAKEUP DETAILS
·      Foundation- L’Oreal Infallible Matte Finish Vanilla
·      Concealer- Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection (the best concealer ever made, seriously try it)
·      Powder- Collection 2000 Sheer Loose Powder
·      Bronzer- Revolution Vivid Baked
·      Highlighter- Urban Decay Sin
·      Eyebrows- NYX Micro Brow Pencil Ash Brown
·      Eye shadow- Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette Venetian Red
·      Lashes- Ardell Wispies
·      Lipliner- Essence Satin Mauve
·      Lipstick- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Cannes

I always start with moisturiser because nobody wants wrinkles, I don’t have a primer at the moment so I just concealed my face. I then do my eye shadow because I’m so rubbish at eye shadow I always get fall down onto my face and on my nose?! God knows how so after I have whacked it all over my face I then hide it with my foundation and conceal under my eyes. I’m so in love with the Modern Renaissance eye palette I have used every colour, I’ve only had it a month and my favourite shade is almost all gone! It’s a pricier product but if you can afford it I really would recommend it! I did a fuller brow as I normally do for a night out/party then put a teeny bit of mascara on before trying to wrangle my falsies onto my eyelids. I am also rubbish at doing false eyelashes; I honestly don’t know why I’m trying to be a beauty blogger ha! But the Duo eyelash adhesive that came with the Ardell wispies is the best glue I have ever tried in my life. My tweezers got stuck to my eye the first attempt but after that fiasco had been dealt with they went on a dream. And even better they STAYED ON ALL NIGHT, this never happens because my eyes cry an awful lot more than normal peoples do. I was very pleased with this product.

I think that’s about it for this week. Let me know if you have tried any of the products or liked my look. How would you have styled it? Also if anyone has any tips for not getting eye shadow all my over my face, send them this way.

Don’t forget to follow my mundane life on social media and I’ll see you lovelies next week!!

Au revoir mon petit pois.

A weekend away in St Albans

Hiya, welcome back!

Number sixty-six on my bucket list is to say YES to a lot more things this year. I am basically channelling my inner Jim Carrey.

I was invited to my friend’s house in St Albans for the weekend along with a few of my old university friends. Now I'm kind of a lazy person and I live quite a bit away from St Albans and I was also supposed to be working on the weekend, so naturally I thought of course I can't go! I thought it would be effort to get my shift covered, I would loose out on money for that shift, the petrol for driving down there will be expensive and the journey will be tiring. This is exactly when I stopped making shitty excuses, I had a good talking to myself got up off my arse and went to live my life, have some fun and make some memories. And as clichéd as it sounds life is about exactly that, memories and fun. It’s not worrying over money or not putting 110% into every day because you can't be bothered. It’s about living it to the fullest, so I went to St Albans.

Below are some photos from my weekend and what I got up to.

We also went to see La La Land and it was so awe inspiring, it's one of those films that made my heart ache but in a good way. I'm thinking of doing an extra post this week with a review of the film, if anyone would like that leave me a comment below! Have any of you guys seen the film yet? If so what did you think? Ryan Gosling is beautiful isn't he?!

As you can see my wardrobe consists of a wide range of colours! I made sure to pack my Asos creepers- they are so comfortable. I also had to bring my favourite make up palette along with me Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills- the shade Buon Fresco is my favourite go to makeup look at the moment. Not forgetting my YSL Mon Paris perfume it has such a fresh delicate smell, I love it.

Travelling attire means comfort first. My coat is Me Jane but I brought it from TK Maxx, it's the cosiest teddy coat. Shoes are from Nike and my leggings are from Tesco's.

We drank wine and played Trivial Pursuit on the Saturday night because we are wild. This is the 2000's special edition of the game and it was actually really fun, the questions are based on facts and events from the 2000's which is ideal as I actually knew some of the answers. I still didn't win though!

Make sure to follow me on Instagram for sneak peaks of next weeks post and check back on Sunday for my review of La La Land!

Bub-bye for now.
